About Us

Rimban Reiki is a Premium Remote Reiki Service Provider. Remote (or distance) healing is an efficient and unique way for you to experience and adopt reiki into your life with regularity. Energy is not a physical object that you can normally see with your naked eyes, thus, has no boundaries. Energy can span time and distance. For that reason, Rimban Reiki can service individuals residing anywhere in the world. Clients can enjoy healing from the comforts of their own homes - or really anywhere they choose. Our goal is to meet people where they are at. One of the top reasons why people do not prioritize their physical, mental and spiritual health is time. It takes time to make appointments. It takes time to drive to and from appointments. It takes time to wait in waiting rooms. Time is valuable. We understand this and have streamlined reiki services to provide you with premium care while protecting your time.

We, at Rimban Reiki, are committed to meeting people where they’re at:

  • We work outside of traditional hours so you don’t have to choose between self-care and your family or career

  • We offer easy appointment scheduling - text and emails are preferred

  • We offer 30 min sessions so you can fit reiki more regularly into your life

  • We specialize in remote reiki, so you can receive reiki anytime, anywhere

  • We are flexible in our session offerings and will work with you on developing a plan that fits your lifestyle, goals and budget.

Meet Erin

Owner and Founder of Rimban Reiki, LLC

Golden Tera Mai™ Reiki Master

I am a Japanese-American born and raised in Northern-California, transplated into Pennsylvania. I still have a network out West, which is how I originally began practicing remote services. I now regularly work on individuals all over the country from my home office in PA. I spend most of my free time with my husband and three beautiful, energetic sons. I enjoy catching up with friends and family over a nice meal, watching reality television, taking naps and furthering my spiritual enlightenment. I work part-time in business consulting for a successful, woman-owned marketing firm, and full-time in the most challenging profession out there - being a mom. Prior to that, I spent most of my professional career in the nonprofit and healthcare industries.

I began practicing reiki in 2018. I am certified in Tera Mai Reiki Level 1, Tera Mai Reiki Level 2 and Tera Mai Level 3/Mastership. In 2023, I was honored to be re-initiated by Tera Mai™ founder, Kathleen Milner. She re-initiated me into an elevated form of reiki called Golden Tera Mai™ Reiki. I am certified in Golden Tera Mai™ Levels 1, 2 and 3/Mastership.

My healing interests include (but not limited to):

  • Chakra balancing

  • Past life exploration

  • Spiritual clearings

  • Intuitive insight

  • End-of-life patient and caregiver services

  • Pain-management

I practice reiki because it brings me joy. I have been personally healed physically and emotionally through reiki and energy work. Reiki has been instrumental in managing my mental health. It has brought me evidence of a higher power and a stronger sense of spirituality. I feel grateful for having the gift of healing, and for being able to help others experience a more peaceful and balanced life.

A Tribute to My Grandfather

My parents had a very difficult time conceiving a child. After four years, they finally became pregnant with my older sister. After her birth, they resigned to only having one child. Then in February, 1981, my grandfather passed away. Very shortly after his death, my parents were surprised to discover that they were pregnant with me. My dad would joke that I was the reincarnation of my grandfather.

My grandfather, Takao Masuoka, was born on October 17, 1908 in Hiroshima, Japan. Although his parents were farmers, my grandfather decided to dedicate his life to the the philosophy of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism. Attending Ryukoku University, he became a Buddhist minister and was given the Buddhist name of Ryuei. In 1938, he married my grandmother, Tomeyo,  and their first child was soon born. In 1939, the main Buddhist church in Kyoto, Japan sent my grandfather to Los Angeles as a missionary. Throughout his career, my grandparents had seven children - six girls and one boy. The golden son is my dad. The Masuoka clan moved to various cities starting in Brawley, CA.  World War II began, and my grandfather was sent to Santa Fe, NM.  He was considered a potential agitator along other community leaders such as doctors, lawyers and community leaders.  Then he was assigned to a concentration camp in Bismarck, ND.  My grandmother and oldest aunt were sent to a relocation camp in Poston, AZ.  My grandmother was pregnant at the time, and my second aunt was born in the camp.  When the war ended my grandfather was reunited with his family in Poston. When they were released from the camp, they were assigned to the Glendale/Phoenix, AZ Buddhist Church, and then they were sent to the Ogden, UT Buddhist Church.

In 1959, my family’s immigration story came to full circle when my grandfather was assigned back to Los Angeles where he had originally started. He was promoted to Fuku Rimban (Vice Bishop) in 1959 and finally to Rimban (Bishop) in 1962.  He spent his remaining career in Los Angeles, ending his time at the Nishi Hongwanji Buddhist Temple where he retired in 1980.

My grandfather was well-respected and loved by his sangha or community. He was extremely charismatic and could make his congregation laugh or cry with his sermons. He was truly dedicated to spreading and practicing the teachings of the Buddha.

Although I have often regretted never meeting my grandfather, I feel lucky to have inherited his spirituality. Reiki is not a religious practice or attached to any specific religion, so in that way we’re different. However, we both share the desire to further human mindfulness and advance along the journey to enlightenment. I also like to think that maybe my grandmother had reiki intuition herself. When my sister and I would have stomachaches as children, my dad would lay his hand on our bellies which would magically relieve our pain. He always said that was what his mother would do when he and his sisters would get sick. So, as a tribute to both my grandparents and my grandfather’s life’s mission, my business is named Rimban Reiki. I hope through Rimban Reiki, I can carry on his practice of love, compassion and mindfulness, and touch many lives as he did.
